Capt. Waffle
Well it's obvious that the Panthers won't let him go without the compensation they desire, so in looking at it, I wonder if his best interest is to sign a long term deal. #1 He will turn 30 this season and has been accused of taking some plays off #2 The garunteed money in the contract will most likely meet or exceed the money he will make this year with the franchise tag #3 If he gets hurt this year and is out for the season, no one including the Panthers may offer a long term deal period, also factor in #1 into this as well #4 The Panthers tried to make him the highest paid DE in the game before the start of last season, and will most likely offer it or already have once again #5 Ron Meeks will find many ways for him to "grow" even more as a DE, so he may not be "maxed" out in the Panthers DT #6 Beason is clearly the "leader" on D, so Jules just has to show up and play So, as a Panther homer I'd say his best spot is right where he already plays....in Carolina. Thoughts from other Panther homers and Huddle brethren.
