dmarc117
During my trip to Alaska, we visited a number of glaciers. The national parks maintain photographs of the history of the glaciers receding. They state that there was an ice age from appr. 1300 to 1850 AD. Since that time the glaciers have been receding and doing so at the same rate. As you walk to the glaciers, they have signs that memorialize the edge of the glacier for various years. Additionally, they explain the rate and duration of the glacial recession can be scientifically determined by the stages of vegetation in the surrounding areas. The fact is, the glaciers in Alask have been receeding at the same constant rate since 1850.
