jackets77
Trying to decide who to start between Hasselback and Ryan this week. 6pt TD's. My opponent has Burrelson and Carlson from the seahawks. And I've got Houz. Is it better to start a QB from a team when your opponent has 2 of his recievers (1WR and 1TE)?

McBoog
It doesn't matter. You need to start the QB you think will get you the most points. The "double TD" theory is in effect here in reverse. This is not what the real team does, it is the sum of your starters that counts. If Ryan scores 22 points in his game and Hass scores 19, it is irrelevant to how the WRs did in the game. You would still get more points from the QB position by starting Ryan. I have broken it down like this before as well. You are in a league that starts two players, 1 QB and 1WR. You have Rivers as your QB and VJax and Roddy White as WRs. If Rivers throws a TD pass to VJax, is it double points? The answer is NO! 1 TD for the QB and one TD for the WR for a total of two TDs. But what if White scored 2 TDs in his game? That would be 1 TD for your QB and 2 TDs for your WR for a total of 3 TDs. You would have been better off starting White instead of Vjax. The answer is, start the QB you think will score the most points. In this case, I think Hass is a little better start, but it is close and you should go with your gut. If it makes you "feel" better because you think there is some form of "canceling" in play, then only you can decide that. BTW, what do you think of my situation I posted. I will bump it up to make it easier to find. I would LOVE to be in your QB situation! Edited October 16, 2009 by McBoog
