Trade Advice- Help please

Recommended Posts

Same league as my lineup question, a 14-team auction league with a salary cap where we start 1 RB, 2 WRs, 1 WR/TE flex and a RB/WR/TE flex.

The trade as offered is Brian Westbrook($22), Tony Gonzalez($6) & Earl Bennett($1) for 2 of my players- DeSean Jackson ($7) & Jason Witten ($14). We have a $10 trade slot, so up to $10 over the value of the trade can be absorbed from a single player in the deal. So if I did this trade as offered I would take $8 into my trade slot from Brian Westbrook.

My RBs are Adrian Peterson, Justin Fargas($1), Felix Jones($4.50), Jamaal Charles($1), Shonn Greene($1) & Ryan Moats($4.50). So I definitely could use a better #2 RB, but in this league I don't have to start a 2nd RB every week, and I am loathe to trade away my best WR in Jackson.

For WRs I have DeSean Jackson, Hakeem Nicks($1), Santana Moss($3.50), Mohamed Massoquoi($1) & Andre Caldwell($1) with Jason Witten at TE.

The other owner also has Mike Sims-Walker ($1).

Right now I doubt I'll accept the deal as offered. I'd like to counter with Jackson, Witten & someone else for Westbrook, Sims-Walker & Gonzo, since Jackson has scored about as many fantasy points as those three combined, but I doubt he'd go for it. This owner is notorious for offering one-sided trades.

So the question is really do I stand pat and refuse to deal Jackson? Or do I trade away Jackson & Witten for Westbrook, Gonzo and possibly a third minor player.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I have never been in a league like yours. Looking at the value, Westbrook is a 30 yr old back, whose best years as a FFB player are behind him, while Djax is a 2nd year player that is already a top WR. The sophomore slump seems to hav totally eluded him. Based on that I would keep DJax. Hope this helps.

Thanks Scorcher, I should mention this is NOT a dynasty league. It's an auction redraft, so I'm just looking through the end of this season. Playoffs in weeks 14-16.
