Yes oil changes and keeping the air filter clean as well. Repairing any fluid leaks when they occur and not allowing the engine to overheat. All important stuff. As far as why they last so much longer?????????? My guess is that it has something to do with combustion temperature being lower as well as diesels making the power and torque they do at lower rpm's than gasoline engines.
