Chargers' Mathews: "I have high ankle sprain"

Yeah, I hear ya. The Colts had the same situation at the RCA Dome. But the injuries from the AstroTurf . . . it's bad. Before the Colts moved to Lucas Oil Stadium, they went ahead and put Field Turf in the Dome and were still able to hold conventions.

I believe the Rams did that, too, but it involves taking the turf up after the season and replacing it again the following fall which is expensive. Since the old ownership group was going to sell, they may have been trying to save some cash. With Kroenke in place, we'll see what happens. It's hard enough to attract free agents here with our recent record.

Report: Tolbert expected to start for Mathews

Rotoworld

According to NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora, the Chargers are operating under the assumption that Ryan Mathews (high ankle sprain) "will be unable to go in [his] normal role if at all."

As we suspected. The high ankle sprain won't improve without rest, so Mike Tolbert is expected to start for Mathews at Seattle with Darren Sproles seeing an uptick in touches as well. Tolbert is a low-end RB2 in standard scoring leagues this week while Sproles graduates to legit a flex option in PPR leagues.
