Plumbers?

So all of a sudden we got a major noise (pipe banging) when we flushed the toilet in the Master Bath. Also a little bit when the washer was cycling or the other toilet was flushed. So I drained the pipes to "re-charge the air chambers" and all went well, now it's just a little bump.

Assuming this will be an ongoing problem should I install "arrestors" at all the offending devices?

Will it take care of that "little bump"?

Can I install an arrestor that does the whole house? Will it take care of that "little bump"?

Should I just wait and see what happens and do the "drain thingee" whenever it happens?

TIA

This is a great site for plumbing questions. I like going on there just to read the question and replies.

I would leave well enough alone. Sometimes there can be a problem with a particular fixture causing the problem. For example if you most hear the problem when flushing a toilet you may have a problem with the Fill Valve. A loose pipe could be the problem as well. Don't know if this helps.

It did. Thanks.

I do know I have a loose pipe, but I can't access it w/o tearing out walls and or floors. Draining the system worked really well. 1/10th the noise now compared to before. Still wonder if a whole house "arrestor" would do any good or just rely on the draining as needed.
