cliaz
Does anyone have experience in or know what would cause a bronchus to collapse? In this instance, after a bronchoscopy it was revealed that the bronchus was flat and not round. Is it possible that years of being in a vegetative state would cause this? Would repetitive bouts of pneumonia and viral infections cause this?

The collapse can be permanent if the inflammation is severe enough or chronic enough to cause scarring. Trauma to the bronchus can also obviously cause collapse. I'd just like to add that I hate inflammation... and this has nothing to do with what I have gone through the past week, it's just that I frickin' hate inflammation in my face... that's all...
