muck Posted November 15, 2011 Share Posted November 15, 2011 (edited) An interesting chart and an interesting read -- the DJIA adjusted for inflation since 1924. Another interesting chart that shows that, per the author, the real (i.e., after inflation) rate of return of the DJIA is +1.64% (exclusive of dividends, commissions, etc.) per year, and that the only way you'll get that over the next 30yrs, given the relative level of the DJIA (vs. the CPI) is to own TIPS.
