(AP) — The Detroit Lions have signed second-round draft pick Shaun Cody to a four-year contract. Detroit announced the signing Friday, the same day the team was to hold its first training camp practice in Allen Park, and Cody was on the field about 15 minutes after the start of practice. Cody, a 6-foot-4, 310-pound defensive tackle from Southern California, was drafted as the 37th overall pick of the 2005 draft. The signing left the Lions two players short of a complete roster. Receiver Mike Williams, the team's first pick in the draft, still was negotiating a contract, while return specialist Eddie Drummond continued to hold out for a deal longer than the one-year contract the team has offered Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
