  2. No, he's just not very good. Being from afar, I can understand why you might think so, though I live in New England and it's plainly obvious to me up here Sanchez just doesn't have what it takes to be an NFL QB. A lot of it is decision-making, which is why so many QBs with the physical talents fail - and why some QBs - like the Chad Pennington's of the world - have managed in past years to hang on and compensate for their deficiencies.
  3. Not exactly. It's not like they were resistant to bring in Tebow because he's Tebow and not McElroy. The reason for the change last week, was timing. It just was SO bad, you had to do something. Had Tebow been in, I'm pretty sure you'dve seen him. Though with the Jet's stupid play-calling and misunderstaning of how to best use Tebow, it's possible they might've felt McElroy was the call, like Tebow almost isn't even a QB. But Tebow wasn't healthy, so we'll never know.
  4. Sanchez is just not a very good QB. His accuracy is dead last in the league, and he makes absolute game-killing turnovers. What's been built around him is even less impressive. From top to bottom, the Jets organization needs an overhaul. The big problem with this, is their owner is something of a meddling jerk and I sincerely doubt we'll get the kind of personnel in the front office that can persist a real change. Rex and pieced it together for a bit. Tannenbaum's gambles (at least on offense) have all gone tits-up in years of late. There's some talent here and there: linebacker, the O-line. I think Bell and Landry have been decent acquisitions in the secondary. Who knows what Revis comes back like, if at all and/or they want to resign him. They have a lot of cap money committed to the Buttfumbler and Santonio Holmes.
  5. Just an idea for a new term that ive been kicking around. Its like a pick-six, but instead of the QB throwing an INT which is returned for a TD for six points - the QB intentionally grounds the football in the end zone, thereby awarding a safety, 2 points and the ball, to the other team. Brady-bailout was another idea I had for this, but I like the alliteration of tommy-two and how it reveals the size of the prize, like the pick-six. That is all.
  6. What @ssh@t in Boston thought Atlanta/Arizona was something I'd want to see over Green Bay/Detroit or Philly/Wash? I mean, for Matt Ryan? Who gives a crap about BC?
  7. Sorry if this isn't OK to ask on this forum. But does anyone else follow the ex-huddle writer JUMbotron on Twitter? @Johnny_U_Miller It looks like his profile is gone. Too bad, I know he moved on from writing, but he was really, really good. Not that the new guys here aren't. I still see Tuvey on there. @jtuvey
  8. I mean, I see the logic in mixing up your guys. But Brown is past his prime and has lost a step, it's a fact. The announcing crew talks about his sure hands, but Mathews is a very capable pass cathcer. Brown looks great statistically, but I'm not impressed by the 6-7 under routes he catches on 3rd and 10 per game. Or the 6 yard nickle runs he rips off....Big deal. Mathews would be chewing up those nickel runs because it's the one down and formation where Norv isn't tipping his hand. Their offense is like ...1st down run with Mathews....2nd down play action with Mathews....3rd down single back with brown...and ? It's the only time there's any doubt. Show me somebody moving the chains on 2nd down and 5 with an 8 yard carry and I'm more impressed. I understand more when they put Jackie Battle on 3rd and 2 and he gets it then Ronnie Brown's 3rd and long plays. I'd understand more Mathews taking an entire series off for rest. I don't get the automatic 3rd down Ronnie Brown time....unless Brown is some crazy awesome blocker and Mathews sucks, but I never read that. Alright, frustrated Mathews owner here, but I think I make some unbiased and fair points about the Bolt's O. It could be better.
  9. Norv Turner is doing a really good job of trying to get Mathews off the field. Edit/tupdate..,,,Mathews has to break a damn tackle or two once in a while when he has the chance, as well. He's been crap out there.
  10. Not true, PT Barnum said.... I traded FOR him two weeks ago....gave up AJ Green, which seems rough, but our WR waiver pool was deep and I picked up Denarious Moore..... Wish I'd traded Megatron instead. Still I think I could unload DMC, but I partly think I want to keep him around.
  11. "I thought it handled great" I guess I understand with Keiland WIlliams available it makes him less attractive in DC. But seriously, why can't Grant get a job? And I sincerely hope he's on the Amtrak north to the MetroPark stop in NJ if we're considering Tebow at RB.
  12. Active per CBS. Given that: Anyone else starting Nicks + Hixon this week? There must be more than a few as probably a lot of people have Nicks handcuffed. Normally I hate this situation, and while I'm not wild about it, Washington is dead last against WRs, so I'm hopeful.
  13. Gonna grab Baron. I dont know. 10 for 22, but I swear as I was half-watching the game in the bar, he seemed kinda spry on a couple of this touches.
  14. Good points. I thought I saw that too. It was funny, couple of replays Vern seemed to be turning around on a corner route with a hole and the pass had already gone inside. I dont have "All 22" or anything, but some of the replays also seemed to show the safeties playing back - where Davis's route was taking him - then you'd see Gore just gash the line and have 15 yards of free space until he ran into a safety. I'm not sure if that was a factor too. It's easy to blame Smith because I don't think anyone is impressed with him, but maybe also the play calling. If the defense is constantly camping out 20 yards back and Davis' routes go right there, it seems prudent to check it down. Why Davis just wasn't turning around 5 yards out or they were running him in a simple in or out route , I don't know. Delanie Walker scored on a short crossing route. Or maybe it was intentional to open up the defense and pound it with Gore. Take the ball out of a struggling QB's hands. Ha, I sound like Im pretending to be an OC or I actually know what I'm talking about, but I don't. This is just amateur conjecture, but it seems reasonable to me. Damn it, 0 points. I want a reason!
  15. Just traded for him as well, and it stings. Especially since I could've had heath Miller for the same price. I wonder if Manningham being out had anything to do with it. Defenses stopped worrying about Randy Moss a long time ago - ergo - more coverage downfield rolled over on number 85. That and Alex Smith being pretty incompetent didn't help, I'm sure. The Walker thing sucks - especially singe Vernon laid the block to spring him for the TD. Between that, good blocking and a great tackle on the pick to stuff Seattle, I'm hoping San Francisco sees all that and realizes they need to utilize him more.
