Draft would be Cris Draft at MLB, and fellas, TD needs to put on some weight in order to play WLB for 16 games, as his frame is still to small to take on pulling guards and such, but it is the OS, so perhaps he's bulking up as we speak. If he comes in at last years weight, which I believe was the low 230's or high 220's-it's to small to play WLB in the NFL.

As I thought, TD is 231, and that's just to small for a starting WLB, he need's to gain about 10-12 lbs in better order to take the point of impact. He will be pounded on at 231 playing WLB. Then also, if he bulks, he slows, making him a liability as that Rover Back Fox was playing him at in the nickel.

The last 2 games of the regular season Draft put up good numbers. How was he on the field? Did he play the middle in both?

Yes, he filled great for Morgan, and with Morgan's speed, he would be great at WLB, and Sean Tufts may be ready to step up-hence the release of Short at SLB.

Should be intestesting to see how it works out. Isn't Draft 232 lbs? Can he make it the whole season there? I have't seen him play.

Here's TD's draft card, and as Sarge say's he's got the seek and destroy attitude to boot. The fact may be that TD just needed to adjust to the speed of the NFL game, and has in fact done that last year with his PT, but he did seem to fade in the PO somewhat-perhaps NFL speed and a deep PO run were hard adjustments. I must admit I thought Spoon had him by at least 8 lbs, but that's not the case-Spoon just knew the game better, so TD could make the name "Spoon" a distant but still good memory for the Panthers-Peace PD.

This is just a rediculous statement from someone who knows very little about what is needed to play the position. Below are some of the best linebackers in the game, most are WLB, with a Vilma added at MLB as further proof a that 230 is plenty big to get the job done. I also and the situation in Seattle which still hasnt been decided who will play weak/strong for the Hawks between Hill and Peterson, as Hill was the WLB last yr, and Peterson played strong side in San Fran, but one of my sources has Peterson at WLB right now, and Hill at strong side while the other has them listed opposite.

That is actually some very good information there Sarge, well done :D -and I will admit I thought the norm was high 230's to mid 240's being the average.

This list goes on and on,  Derrick Brooks is 235.

And who says T Davis cant add at least  4 lbs to get to 235.

I'd like to see him add some lbs if he's going to stay at LB, then Tufts at high 240's is a monster at SLB, and I think he may be ready to start this season.

Davis doesn't need anymore weight. Speed is his biggest asset. Just plug him in, let him read and react and go. He was a liability in the secondary last year, but could have a major impact as a LB.

I disagree with many things that Sarge says, but I do give him kudos for knowing his stuff as far as defensive players. :D

Also the ability to take on and shed blocks is more important than weight. Weight, height, arm length are factors of course, but don't really determine success or failure.

Having DT's than can take on blockers and keep them off the LB's is more important imo. I am hoping Carolina's line stays injury free this year.

Scouts says this

"At his best in run support. A big hitter with excellent size, toughness, aggressiveness, power and tackling skills. Can match up in the box. Shows the ability to shed blocks on a consistent basis and he also take great angles to the ball carrier. Has excellent range in run support, fills hard and is not afraid to throw his body around. Shows great hip explosion for a safety and packs a punch as a tackler. Has a great motor and flies around the field from sideline-to-sideline. Lacks ideal speed at DS. "

Sounds ideal for a LB.
