baddfish2
I know they thought he might have played last week, but obviously didn't. What's the severity of the foot injury and does anyone know if he's expected back after the bye? News is thin on bye weeks of course, and Jason Wright was a great pickup & fill in for FWP on bye last week, but the roster spot is awfully valuable. Anyone know anything about Jamal's comeback? loaf
still a little early for any kind of definitive update...did find this: Lewis' progress: Crennel said he expects running back Jamal Lewis to be back for the next game, Oct. 28 in St. Louis. Lewis sat out the Miami game with a foot injury suffered in New England. "We'll see where he is next week," Crennel said.
loaf
Running back Jamal Lewis is confident his strained right foot will be ready for the St. Louis Rams on Oct. 28. "It's nothing serious, just something that needed a little time," Lewis said. "The bye gives me two weeks and that helps." Lewis said he was relieved when the MRI revealed no structural damage, but never really felt there was. "I knew right from the jump that there was nothing torn or broken," he said. In fact, he fought so hard to go back into the New England game after that first run on which he suffered the injury, that team officials may have hid his helmet. "I think they did hide it," he said. "I couldn't find it. I really wanted to go back in, if nothing else just to back Jason Wright up. But they kept me out and it was good they did." Lewis has a history of playing in pain, including the past two seasons with an ankle injury that required surgery each off-season. "If it was up to me, I probably would've played [against Miami], but maybe I would've wound up missing more games," he said. "It could've gotten worse. But the doctors and trainers sat me down and said resting was the best thing to do." He said he felt he would have had a "huge day" against New England based on his 11-yard run on the opening play, "but things happen for a reason and luckily we have Jason Wright and Jerome Harrison who can step up."
