kingfish247
What's with the rumblings in Houston for Rosenfels? It makes sense that if the offensive linemen are getting pushed back into Schaub’s facemask that he should take a shorter drop and fling it. Or use the shotgun. But Schaub isn’t comfortable in the shotgun. Only Seattle used it less last season than the Texans. One thing that’s impressive about Sage Rosenfels is that he excels at taking the short drop, making quick decisions and getting rid of the ball in a hurry. And he’s accurate, too. And speaking of Rosenfels, if the Texans lose to the Ravens and Schaub doesn’t play well again, this franchise is going to have its first big-time quarterback controversy. Which, of course, will make Kubiak’s job even more difficult. It's never good when the HC has to come out and say that he backs his QB as Kubiak did this week. In coach double speak that often means a QB will be kept on a short leash. Was Schaub really that bad in PIT? Judging from the box score, it seems the entire team struggled. Can most of the blame be pinned on Schaub?
Chachi
The Pitt D line just steamrolled them all day, so in that regard, you can't blame him. But if Rosenfels is more effective in short-drop and shotgun situations, it makes sense to go with him. The coach has to do what's necessary to win. I feel bad for Schaub, since the first 4 weeks aren't exactly QB friendly, especially without a running game to take some of the pressure off. This assumes that a switch to Rosenfels is really what is wrong with the team. If the team got steamrolled, which is what I expected, then switching QBs is what an HC would do to try to save face for fielding such an overall crappy team. Would Rosenfels really have made that much of a difference in Heinz field?

Until the pass blocking improves, it's not going to matter who is under center. I would say that Schaub will have as much time as possible to prove he is the guy, just because of what they gave up to get him. That and since he was injured part of the year, they really don't know exactly what they have in him.
ReturnToSender
Matt will bounce back, especially is AJ is healthy all year, but no defense is going to respect their run game, or their lack there of.
Jackass
would be a panic move IMO, at least at this point.
