webbnathan
After I finished my keeper league draft last August, I thought/knew I had comprised maybe one of my best teams to date (last 8 years). I did my research. I followed the preseason as much as anyone can. I would of put this team up against anyone's. But now the 3rd week has come to a close and I am 0-3 and am facing a record that is probaly going to get much worse than better in the near future. Let me show you: Ray Rice (keeper) - 5pts, 11pts, 9pts with no TD's thus far and a bum knee going into week 4. Terrible for someone that was projected as a top 4 back. The sophomore slump may have hit a year late. Calvin Johnson (keeper) - 4pts, 13pts, 5pts with 1 TD and no game with more than 56yds receiving. And now he's lost his QB for half the season yet again. So much for this year being the year Johnson breaks into the elite WR group. Peyton Manning (keeper) - The lone bright spot to my team. His performance alone has allowed me from totally being embarrassed in my match ups. Shonn Greene - -1pts, 5pts, 3pts with no TD's. Wow....just wow. The Jets appear to be in love with LT and are content in letting Greene rid the pine except for the 4 to 5 carries a game. The RB that was ranked 14th going into the drafts is now sitting on my bench. I don't see this changing anytime soon. Wow....just wow. C.J. Spiller - 0pts, 2pts, 15pts with 1 kickoff TD. Double wow....just double wow. A year where rookie RB's are getting the starts left and right and Spiller was coming off a great preseaon, there was no reason not to think Spiller would get more than 50% of the touches in Buff. Even the head coach was saying Spiller was going to be a big part of the O. Well, 3 weeks in and that could not be further from the truth. Maybe when Buffalo is 0-12, Chan will finally say "F it, lets' see what this rookie has", but too little too late for me. Another RB that was ranked 24th going into the draft. Spiller as a #3 back........and now another back sitting on my bench. Steve Smith (NY) - 4pts, 3pts, 10pts. with no TD's. A year where the Giants appear like they are going to be behind in most games, Smith is somehow being left out of the TD throws. Thanks to a 100yd game last week has kept him from totally being AWOL on the team. Johnny Knox - 5pts, 8pts, 9pts with no TD's. Ho Hum, I guess not bad for being the 3rd WR I took but appears like he will be in the line up now due to the Greene and Spiller debacle. Michael Bush - 0pts, 0pts, 1pt. This guy was in a GREAT position coming out of preseason to take the starting job and be a nice RB fill in when needed. Now a thumb injury and McFadden getting a spark lit under his ass, has put Bush on the bench. Normally, not a big deal as it was a gamble but see the Greene/Spiller debacle to see why this has been a dissapointment. Jermichael Finley - 4pts, 10pts, 11pts with no TD's. Yep, he's gettign the yards but again no TD's like last year. He and Manning have kept me from totally being embarrassed. FA pickup in week 1 - Brandon Jackson - 7pts, 9pts, 3pts with 1 TD. I see now why Jackson has been riding the pine for the last 3 years. He is terrible and has no clue out there. He's already pretty much been replaced by Kuhn. But I have to play him (please see Greene/Spiller debacle). I'm not even going to get into the SanFran D I picked up in the last round of the draft that was ranked as a top 5 D by some sites. Usually, I can piece some things together during a season but my hands are strapped here. Thanks for letting me vent here as this has frustrated the hell out of me already. This did not go the way I thought or what was even projected. Chalk this up to lesson learned...........I guess. Hope the best for everyone else out there. efi4eye
A couple things I noticed - Steve Smith from the Giants is really much more of a PPR receiver. In standard scoring, he's not gonna get you a lot of TDs. You took a lot of chances on unproven guys - Greene, Spiller, Bush, Knox. Maybe should have stuck with some more proven talent. The season is still young though
BearBroncos
Like efi said, the season is young and many of those will produce. Knox is Cutlers go to guy but guy and will get the TD's. Greene has been mentioned a BAZILLION times here and you need to be absolutely patient with him. He will get some nice numbers but if you not patient, you'll never see those numbers. Smith will have his ups and downs but mainly just a reception reciever and or over the middle guy and won't provide allot of TD's like Manningham and Nicks. To the OP, we've all had years where things just don't go right, matchups kill you and injury makes it worse. I suggest you make a trade and mix it up... what have you got to lose? onbrake
Throw Payton out there see if you can get a good RB and a half way decent QB.maybe a Foster and Orton mix it up before it's to late.Think two for one deals.
