piratesownninjas
A tool fest in a Packer thread, how completely odd. Dammit.
piratesownninjas
A few thoughts from the game... Mike McCarthy started out great with his playcalling, then as he does way too many times, gets cute/scared. If you must establish the run, do it with Kuhn, not Brandon Jackson. Jackson really does run like he has concrete blocks attatched to his feet... He also dances behind the line. He shouldnt be on the field unless it's freaking third down. Dom Capers needs to make better adjustments when things aren't working. The entire day was filled with TE screens, RB Screens, all of which were able to run after the catch as no one was in the area. The special teams are again looking to be the achilles heel to this team. Jordy Nelson shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a ball. He may be the worst kick returner in the league. He doesn't give you enough in terms of field position/gaining yardage that justifies the risk of him putting the ball on the ground. I'd rather see Shields back there... Sure, he's just as likely to put the ball on the ground, but he at least gives you a chance for a good return. Charles Woodson saved his day with the INT touchdown. Calvin Johnson was eating him alive... Even with Morgan Burnett trying to help over the top. Greg Jennings cannot be trusted for a jump ball. The pass protection looked good again. Not great, but light years ahead of last years disaster. McCarthy needs to get back to the short/middle passing plays. Let Finley/Jennings/Driver/Jones catch something and make something happen. I really hope Starks is ready to go out of the gate in a few weeks. Kuhn has been great in limited work, but Jackson is a liability.
Ed Hoyle
There ye go again arsninja. just making a point about how TT needs to clean up the personnel issue where these "drafted" players need to quit making dumb mistakes. he picked them, and ultimately he and MM need to take care of things. if this had been a better team and not DET ----GB would have lost. Whether you can face. It or not this was two stinkers, as you put it, in a row. They are nowhere as being the SuperBowl Team they were thought to be in Preseason. Potential, YES, but for two weeks...NOT. And as for Favre...get a new argument...this had nothing to do with him. YOU TOOL. Go back and let the other aspirates take a whack at you from behind...that seems to be where you have your head whenever anyone says anything about GB..true or not. Ted Thompson isn't responsible for the playcalling, genius. And every team, even your favorite Vikings have crap players. No GM in the world has the perfect lineup. And the crap about being nowhere near a SB team... With your logic, neither are the Colts or Chargers, but the Cheifs would be. It doesn't matter how you win, but if you win. Go blow Favre. Chavez
Brandon Pettigrew looks like a good. Pettigrew is IMMENSELY talented, but after today's game, he has the look of the player who ends up with Pro Bowl stats but the coaches just don't trust when it's crunch time.
