Capt. Stanky
LaRon has been a limited participent in practice all week due to an achiles injury. Does anyone have any insight on him playing this week? Dude has been an absolute beast. He's the top IDP in my league. Edited October 22, 2010 by Capt. You are going to have to monitor the inactives on Sunday but imo he doesn't have a great matchup and if you have a better option/matchup I would probably look at going that way. I think he's got a great match up and will be in my starting line-up if he plays. With the Bears poor offensive line and inability to pick up blitzes I wouldn't be surprised if he gets two sacks and with Cutler getting no time to throw and his propensity to make mistakes he could very well get a pick. The Bears have virtually no running game either so he could rack up 7-10 tackles. Interested to hear why you think he's got a bad match up? I ranked him a 3 star play which is starter status...I didn't say he had a BAD MATCHUP....I said he doesn't have a GREAT MATCHUP...and when coupled with the injury aspect that adds risk that imo is probably not worth taking if you have a better matchup...do you subscribe to the pay content? If not this is what I wrote...I guess a small snipet for free from the article won't kill us: Secondary: LaRon Landry is easily one of the best DBs in the NFL this year and in most weeks is a don't even think about it plug and play stud but this week might not be one of those weeks. At this point I must have your attention so stay with me here. Landry has one week where he left owners feeling a bit empty to say the least. That was in week 4 versus Philadelphia where he posted just 4 solos and 1 assist. The reason that Landry had so few tackles was because the Redskins used him to try and limit the Eagles vertical passing attack. Well this week with a visit to Chicago one has to assume that the Redskins could end up doing the same as they did versus the Eagles. I am not in anyway advocating to sit Landry but want to point out that he very well could have a less than stellar week this week. and then this is from the Friday Injury Update in the same article: FRIDAY INJURY REPORT UPDATE: LaRon Landry (achilles), Carlos Rogers (shoulder), DeAngelo Hall (back) & Rocky McIntosh (head) are all listed as QUESTIONABLE on the injury report. Landry is the only one of the four not to practice fully on Friday, he was a limited participant. Landry should be good to go this week but you really need to monitor the inactive report before starting him. With this week not looking like a great matchup it might just be best to look for help elsewhere and leave Landry on your bench.

Good stuff and I appreciate the time you took to post this. In my league we can only roster 2 safety's and start 1. I have Chung and Landry and they're paying off very well for me. I will say that the only week I sat Landry was week 4 when Chung had his blow up game on monday night versus the Dolphins. With this info it looks like a good time to insert Chung against the aerial attack of Phillip Rivers. Your thoughts ....
