I don't expect a return to quite his former glory, as Newton is going to be inconsistant, and Smith won't get to school rookie cornerbacks every week, but he's going to be better this year than his last couple. Grits and Shins Posted September 14, 2011 Share Posted September 14, 2011 What makes you think I am an expert on SSmith? I'm a Dallas homer not a Carolina homer. Personally I have always thought SSmith was a little man with a big heart, always amazed me that he could make the plays that he could. He always seemed to find a way to beat defenders. Going into this year my concern wasn't specifically with SSmith but more along the lines of the problems with having a rookie QB on a team that likes to run the ball anyway. Obviously in week 1 he was a rock star. I expect we will see ups and downs for him this year as Newton experiences growing pains. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
