DirtyBallBatman
Hey all, first post here on this website. Looking for some solid advice. This league places equal emphasis on QB's, but gives them value. Here's a basic breakdown of scoring. - Completions: 1/2 point - Passing TD: 6 points - 300-399 yards: 5 point bonus - 400+ passing yards: 10 point bonus Other scoring: - Receptions: 1/2 point - Rushing/Receiving TD: 6 points - 100-199 rushing/receiving yards: 5 point bonus - 200+ rushing/receiving yards: 10 point bonus I have the SECOND pick of the draft, and the #1 pick has settled on Aaron Rodgers. I am on the clock for our draft in September. I'm struggling to decide between Manning or Charles. What do you all think?
Big Country
What is the scoring range by position? Pretty sure the completion points push QBs to such a high level of scoring that manning is the surprising call here, but I'd have to see that scoring breakdown to confirm that. DirtyBallBatman
Thanks Big Country for the reply, I feel like Peyton is too obvious in this type of league. As much as the league passes, as much as Peyton likes to throw, and as accurate as he can be, I expect 28-30 completions a game almost every time from him. That means that I am gaining almost a two-touchdown advantage in completions alone. Here's the scoring breakdown of the league: Passing: Every 25 yards: 1 Each Pass Completed: 1/2 Passing TD: 6 Interceptions: -2 2 PT Conversion: 2 300-399 Passing Yards: 5 400+ Passing Yards: 10 Rushing: Every 10 yards: 1 Rushing TD: 6 2 PT Conversion: 2 100-199 Rushing Yards: 5 200+ Rushing Yards: 10 Receiving: Every 10 yards: 1 Each Reception: 1 Receiving TD: 6 2 PT Conversion: 2 100-199 Receiving Yards: 5 200+ Receiving Yards: 10 The only problem is, if Peyton goes #2, there is an extremely small chance I miss out on a second-tier running back. Chances are, Gio Bernard is gone and Zac Stacy/Joique Bell is my RB1. **Edited for formatting** Edited July 29, 2014 by DirtyBallBatman
Big Country
I didn;t mean what is the scoring system, I meant in general what do the players actually score i.e the top QBs score in the 450-500 range and the Qb 10-12 are usually in the 300 range top Rb scores about 225 or so, RB 12-16 are around 150... etc. That range in scoring is what dictates value. Ingot4212
Get Peyton. The drop off at qb after manning is huge, there are plenty of solid running backs you can get later. Peyton's offense has only gotten better with the additions of Emmanuel sanders and Cody Latimer at wr and a more talented running back in Montee ball, mannings the obvious choice there for me, he should go #1 no doubt
davesworld23
I would build on your WRs next unless there is obviously a great value pick on the board
