Gonkis
CNNSI 10 Spot - See #6 6. The 10 Spot has poked fun at the 49ers for selling the naming rights of its stadium to Monster Cable Products, a move that San Francisco voters have since overturned at the polls. (The name will change from Monster Park back to Candlestick Park when the current contract expires.) But it seems that this Monster is far more devious than we had imagined. The company has filed lawsuits against dozens of companies for using "monster" in their name. Included among the targets are Fenway Park, for naming the seats behind the Green Monster "Monster Seats," and the Bears for using the nickname "Monsters of the Midway." Just so we're clear, Monster Cable Products was founded in 1979, decades after those others nicknames became famous. Let's hope the Cookie Monster has a good lawyer.
