  1. First off, our league is unique. 1pt for 25 yds rush/rec, 5 pts total for 100yds rush/rec. 6pt all TDs, 12 pts for TDs over 50yds. That said, I've got to roll with 2 of these RBs this week in a must-win. My thoughts are Riddley and Mathews, assuming Mathews is back to a full workload. I worry, rightly so, that KC will get down big to NO and nullify any chance Charles has of contributing. For whatever reason, Charles isn't a factor in the pass game...despite being KC's best playmaker. I'm not worried about JC's knee (which was only bruised, and had nothing to do with his ACL...FYI) so much as his touches. The only thing keeping JC in the convo is his big play ability...which I feel is back (he nearly broke a big one vs ATL). Thoughts? It's Riddley/Mathews all the way isn't it?
  2. Perhaps JUM has realized he could go solo and an army of readers would follow? If he set up his own site or even a newsletter, people would sign up. He might be the best fantasy sportswriter out there. His nuggets were pure gold most of the time and if they weren't, he had good reasoning behind his gut calls. He is and was a huge reason why I have remained a loyal customer to this site. That may change now. Everybody can point their browser to RotoWorld and get a lot of the same insight found here. It's the gut calls and "did you notice" commentary that sets, or set, The Huddle apart. Hope that doesn't change. I wish JUM nothing but the best in his future endeavors.
  3. Also should note that my interest was a direct result of DMD's tweet. You gotta read between the lines if you want to succeed at this game. The sheep get slaughtered and the shepherds cash in. The Huddle rocks and any complaints are just classic WOE IS ME fantasy whining. Which is hilarious coming from what I can only assume is a grown man.
  4. Picked him up and started him against CAR. Why? Because CAR is terrible. Because Mo Morris has been blah, and because K Williams has been meh. K Smith is 24 years old, wants a job, and was solid behind a horrendous O-line before getting injured. The lockout hurt him more than anything else. Now, with 6 weeks left to prove himself, I think we'll see nothing but good things out of him. Remember, Mo Morris was there when he was the starter and workhorse. "Fortune favors the bold." http://forums.thehuddle.com/index.php?show...p;#entry3574087
  5. No, I don't own Best (passed on him thru first 5 rounds of our draft, mostly b/c I had him last year and it was brutal w/those turf toes). Decided to take equally fragile Felix Jones and have paid for not securing Murray. DMD's tweet about K Smith got me thinking. Morris? Somewhat ineffective, and old in RB years. Williams? Meh. K Smith has talent, opportunity, hunger, and health. He wants a job next year. He's 24 with a kid. He was great his rookie year behind the worst O-line in the league. Injuries hurt him in year 2 and 3, but he ran a TON in college w/out injuries so I consider those a fluke. He's back to his rookie form now and while it would be foolish to assume weekly output like last week's v. CAR, I think he'll be the RB2 my/your team so badly needs going forward. Best is not coming back. Just b/c he's "around" doesn't me anything. He has to take violet hits to the helmet without issues, not just walk through the locker room. I thought Smith looked great. But we'll see what he does on Thanksgiving against a team with a backbone. Carolina is terrible.
  6. it was a desperation play and obviously very lucky. but yes, i'll pick up a W this week to move to 8-3.
  7. i benched tolbert's fat ass. credit goes to a DMD tweet that got me thinking. can't believe JUM didn't post a trademark "whisper" on k smith. the gig is his!
  8. staring down tolbert, battle, and kevin smith i had a tough call. i went with upside/unknown and it paid off. sorry, had to post it.
  9. hard to say which of those terds might polish up into something useful. make a roulette wheel and give it a spin. if it lands on torain, try again.
  10. how long was justin morneau out this year in baseball? yeah. and he doesn't play a sport where bashing your head repeatedly is required. best is doomed. even if he does come back, how does he avoid another shot to the head? good luck if you picked him, or, recently picked him up.
  11. Beanie Wells Possibly even McCoy (PHI) in TD-heavy formats.
  12. well hello neklok...

  13. keep henne. at least he's shown something in the first 3 weeks. cassel looks pathetic, has a crazy HC, and simply doesn't look like a QB who's gonna throw it more than 20 times a week. at least marshall is there for henne. yes, wildcat is a concern but i still like henne more than cassel.
  14. wow. now that's overpaying. how much will kyle orton get when his time comes?
  15. Huddle. Long time reader first time poster. Is this deal worth thinking about as I sit at 2-5? I trade Chris Johnson, Drew Brees, Kevin Smith, Jerricho Cotchery for Adrian Peterson, Larry Fitzgerald, Chester Taylor, and Kyle Orton. Might even toss in Jamal Lewis if that's what it takes. Note: This deal has not been made yet. I have Matt Shaub to start once Brees is gone. Also, my record is due mostly to having opponents go nuts on me more than my team sucking. Here's the lineup pre-trade: QB: Brees RB: Lynch RB: Chris Johnson (J. Lewis, Deuce, Torain, Fred Jackson, Kevin Smith) WR: Roddy White WR; Jerricho Cothery (Berrian, Driver) TE: Witten K: Bironas I think I get the better players in the trade, despite losing Brees. What do you think?
