  1. And grab the best RB/WR available with the 38th pick (in the 4th round), who presumably would be better than Chambers or Engram. Got it. Thanks much. I think the only think that messes this up a bit is that someone I could reasonably expect to be there in the 4th round might be on someone else's keeper list, as there are a couple pretty stacked teams in this league (still not sure how I grabbed second place as I went 8-5 but had a fun run through the playoffs). But I could do worse than try to build around Brees, Edwards and Parker. Thanks again.
  2. I'm in a 12 team standard ESPN fantasy league (2 QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1WR/RB, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 D/ST 2 OP 10 bench). Snake draft, finished 2nd last year, so I have the 11th, 14th, 35th, 38th, 59th, 62nd etc picks. Owners can keep up to 17 players. If you keep 5, your first pick is in the 6th round, as your keepers go as your first 5 picks. I have no idea what other owners will do. Assuming all owners have perfect knowledge, I'd assume you keep everyone who'd be gone by the time you got to make a selection, but not sure if that makes sense. Here the names on my roster that I can find among the Top 200 lists: Brees, and Campbell at QB (also have Croyle and Boller) Parker, Norwood, Watson, KJones at RB (also have Stecker and F Jackson) Edwards, Engram, Chambers, Hackett, Gaffney, McDonald at WR J Brown at K Steelers D/ST I'm thinking I could: 1. Keep Brees and Edwards and start picking in the 3rd round 2. Add Parker and Engram to my list and start picking in the 5th round Should I entertain keeping anyone else? Chambers, Hackett, Norwood, Campbell - are they worth dropping below the 5th round to keep? Any help or insight would be much appreciated.
  3. This season I've been getting weekly point projections and rankings from this set of services: H&V (ESPN) Accusports FFToday WIS (WhatIfSports) Roger Rotter (MSN) The Huddle (just added this week) ESPN Rankings Karabell's rankings (ESPN) Berry's Flex Rankings (ESPN, plus his Love/Hate recommendations) I throw them all in a spreadsheet, and try to divine who to have active each week. Now I've added The Huddle's projections. Has anyone looked at which of the above are the best ('best' meaning those that have the least variance between projected and actual point totals). Are some regarded as generally better than others? Or are some good at RB, others good at K and DST? It seems to me there's an incredible amount of variance across these services, and in the end I've relied a bit more on intuition, and rankings, than on actual point projections. But I'd be interested in finding out whether there are some agreed upon favorites in the above list, or, some agreed upon 'ignores'.
  4. Thanks much - just the kind of response I was looking for. I play in an ESPN league, and it's just that it's painful putting Norwood up there when right next to his name are the 3 points H&V say he'll get and my opponent has Westbrook or Peterson or somebody. And then, of course, there's the 4 points next to Campbell's name and he's 'locked', and I've had my share of single digit QB performances this year.... Sure does seem more likely that both Croyle and Boller could hit double digits tho, rather than the other 7. Except Furrey and McDonald give me pause. I keep reading, and see in this site's projections, that Furrey will benefit the most from Williams being down, that Detroit will be behind all day and Kitna will be throwing all day, and that, for example, Furrey's going to get 15 points and McDonald 12 (even Chambers and Henderson are 10+ in the projections). So, well, I obsess. And of course, if I can get through this first playoff game, the way our seeds worked out I'm thinking I'm in the finals..... So here's my last question: Would you keep Jackson at RB and put Norwood in the RB/WR slot, or play Norwood over Jackson and put Furrey in the RB/WR slot?
  5. Bump Read the advice for newbies here. Let me see if it's easier to help this way: 1. Pick best RB this week: F Jackson (vs Mia, losing time to Lynch), Jerious Norwood (vs NO, finally unseating Dunn?), Kevin Jones (vs Dallas, awful 3 of last 4 weeks), Kenny Watson (back to backing up Rudi) 2: Pick 3 highest point totals from these 9: Croyle (vs Den, starting over Huard) Boller (vs Indy) Norwood (see above) K Jones (see above) K Watson (see above) M Furrey (vs Dallas, Lions behind and throwing, 'go to guy' with Williams out? or is it CJ's breakout week) S McDonald (see Furrey) C Chambers (inconsisten, will the real Phillip Rivers please stand up) D Henderson (behind Colston, improved lately, Brees will air it out?) Standard scoring, no PPR, start 2 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 RB/WR, 1 TE, 2 OP (QB/RB/WR/TE), 1 K, 1 DST Please help.
  6. The only option I'd consider in this scenario is starting Jacobs over Welker, but I think you look good to go. Here's mine: http://forums.thehuddle.com/index.php?showtopic=235172
  7. Starting Lynch and Jackson doesn't really make sense to me - seems like you get 1 full time RB that way. Right now, I'd go with Jackson and Maroney, as I just don't see Lynch getting the bulk of the work this week. Next week, he probably does.....
  8. I'm starting the Giants vs Philly instead of Pittsburgh vs NE, but Philly has a history of beating up on NY in December. I'm going with the Giants because, being from Boston, it's bad karma for me to hope Pittsburgh's DST will do well. There's an intelligent reason for you. Cinncinnati was on Rotter's list of DSTs that look good 3 of the next 4 weeks, including tomorrow. I like them against the Rams a little more than either the Giants or Bills tomorrow. Here's mine: http://forums.thehuddle.com/index.php?showtopic=235172 Sure would like some help if you have a chance.
  9. I'd start Norwood over Lynch, just because I'm guessing that they both might get limited carries but Norwood will do more with the ones he gets. At the moment, I'm starting Fred Jackson over Norwood tho, which I'm wondering about now that Jackson might be sharing with Lynch sunday. Tell you what - if we decide Lynch is a better start than Norwood because Lynch is going to do well, I'll start Norwood over Jackson.
  10. Well, Stecker's got the start but I think Edge will do better. WR is a tougher call, but I think I'd start Johnson
  11. I've been tracking projected points and rankings from Berry and Karabell, H&V, (and ESPN), Rotter and MSN, WhatIfSports, Accuscore, and FFToday, and have decided to bank finally on The Huddle, as too much information has become a bad thing, and I can't resolve the inconsistencies alone. Hope you can help: Ive got Campbell (that hurt) and Brees at QB Willie Parker and Fred Jackson at RB Braylan Edwards and Bobby Engram at WR Marcedes Lewis (over Leonard Pope) at TE Josh Brown (over Jason Hanson) at K NYG (over Pittsburgh) at DST Need to fill the RB/WR (flex) spot and the 2 OP slots with 3 of the following 9: Brodie Croyle, Kyle Boller, Kevin Jones, Jerious Norwood, Kenny Watson, Mike Furrey, Shaun McDonald, Devery Henderson, Chris Chambers. Every service I look at gives me a different three. The Huddle Projections seem to suggest Furrey at RB/WR, and Croyle and Boller at QB (those being the top 3 point totals available from the listed 9). What do people think of other options? Do I bench Jackson now that it looks like Lynch will get some carries and slot in Jones or Norwood? Do I drop one of the two QBs and add McDonald or Chambers? Given my other options, would you bank on Norwood finally unseating Dunn or wait and see before starting him? Would really appreciate any guidance offered.
