  1. I like this team a lot. I do think you got a little lucky though. You must have gotten S. Young, E. James, or E. Graham in the 8th round. That's a big drop. I think you'd be lucky to get any of these guys after the fifth or sixth. I doubt most drafts will go this way, but, yours did, so good job.
  2. WR's in 1 - 3 and none after? 7 RB's? Yes! In my mind this is the only way to effectively pull off WR-WR. You have to bank on your studs, sacrifice WR depth, and get a lot of RBs with upside in the hope that two pan out. Here's my gameplan if I try this again. I would only try it if I pick late (9-12 in a serpentine draft) Round 1 WR Round 2 top tier QB (brady, manning, romo, brees) Round 3 WR Round 4 top tier TE (witten, gates, gonzo, winslow) or WR Round 5-11 (6 RBS and one WR/TE[depends on what happened in round 4], focus on RB's with a lot of upside, e.g. C. Taylor, avoid merely solid guys like F. Taylor, W. Dunn, J. Fargas, etc.) Round 12 backup QB Fill out roster with rest of picks. Not saying this is the best plan, but it's what I was thinking. We'll see how it works. The basic idea is that if I pick enough RBs with upside, I'll get lucky with two.
  3. i dont like palmer at 4... strategically i like to HOG all the best players of each category.... I woulda gone with another Stud WR like... brandon marshall... or who ever else was like.. maybe a torry holt/ plaxico burress... very high trade value when people realize they have weak WRS... or even straight into the JASON WITTEN/ KELLEN winslow a QB this early is fine... like the top 4... brady manning romo brees.... but after those 4... all the qbs basically produce the same I agree with the last part. The difference here is my projections. My projection of Carson Palmer is higher than mainstream (my top QB tier has 5), and I was confident that he was not going to last until my next pick. Also, for what it's worth, DD had him as by far my best choice at #4. However, going back over it, I think that Palmer was probably my worst pick. I actually could have taken B. Marshall at #4, but I just couldn't pull the trigger on WR-WR-WR-WR. Another problem is my leauge is not filled with the most active traders.
  4. I decided to mix it up in one of my leagues as well (picked #8/12, no ppr, massive bonuses for long TDs at all positions) Here's my draft in order 1.08 R. Moss 2.05 R. Wayne 3.08 S. Smith 4.05 C. Palmer 5.08 S. Young 6.05 J. Stewart 7.08 K. Smith 8.05 M. Morris 9.08 R. Rice 10.05 V. Young 11.08 J. Norwood 12.05 C. Bears 13.08 L. Washington 14.05 R. McMichael 15.08 A. Bradshaw 16.05 J. Scobee I figure that two of my RBs will pan out. If not, then I could try trading Moss for a top RB after Steve Smith returns. WR-WR-WR is something I've never done before, and probably won't do again, unless this works out.
  5. Maybe it's just me I don't really think that the initial offer (Welker/Jones for Lynch/Holmes) is ridiculous. Lopsided, yes? But certainly not ridiculous like the original posters example. I think a lot of times the owner that receives an offer and finds it ridiculous is making the same mistake as the guy who made the offer. Both are simply overvaluing their own players. This obviously isn't always the case as evidenced by the truly ridiculous offers in this thread. I don't think SJax & Holmes for Holt & Julius Jones qualifies as ridiculous either. On it's face, it seems uneven, but given the right rosters this trade may actually be reasonable for both teams.
  6. I like Clark slightly better, but I think it is close. I have personally never been that high on Clark. Because the Colts have 3 good receivers, Clark is like the 5th option in the passing game (after Harrison, Wayne, Stokely, and Edge). But the Colts throw a lot, so being the 5th option on that team isn't really that bad. Clark compares favorably with Watson, since Watson is probably around the 5th option on his team and the pats don't throw as much. I think that Watson is more athletic and can do more with the ball after the catch. If the Pats take advantage of this and target him more, that may make him more valuable in the future. But for the time being, Clark is the better choice.
  7. I had J. Walker and now I need a replacement. I'm stacked at RB and am trying to trade W. Parker for a good WR. My goal is to get someone like A. Johnson/D. Jackson/R. Wayne (I value these three roughly the same). Is this too optimistic? Or should I be asking for more? What WRs have other huddlers gotten for Parker?
  8. I've tried to shop him around for a reciever (also had J. Walker in one league), but no one is interested enough. What I've found is that people who actually own Parker tend to overestimate his value, while people who don't own him underestimate his value and claim that he is just a one week wonder. If he has another good week I might be more successful in making a good trade. Thanks everyone for the good responses. Based on the replies, I am going to definitely bench him league 2 and most likely bench him in league one also (need to think a little more about that one).
  9. I have Parker in two leagues. League One (points for yardage, TDs and receptions) I have LT vs Denver Rudi vs Minnesota Parker vs Houston Which two would you start? League Two (points for yardage, TDs, but NO points for receptions) I have Deuce vs NY Giants J. Lewis vs Tenessee Parker vs Houston Which two would you start? My head says to bench Parker in both leagues, but my gut says to start Parker over Rudi in League 1 and over Deuce in League 2. Any suggestions?
  10. I would have thought so too, but all of the depth charts that I have seen on various websites list Stecker as #2.
  11. I've got Deuce McCallister and I want to have his backup in case of injury. I assumed that his backup was Stecker (who I currently have), but I noticed that in the last game A. Smith got 3 carries to Stecker's 1 carry. Can anyone who watched the game put these stats into context? Any thoughts on who will get most of the carries if Deuce goes down? Thanks for any replies.
