Hugh 0ne
Great game 7. Congrats to the 'Canes. Good to see some of the old guys like Brind'Amour and Wesley hoist the Cup for the first time.

I was really happy for Brind'Amour and several of the ex-Flyers who never got a chance in Phila.
SeductiveNun
I watched the game at the bar last night, and NOBODY there was cheering for the Canes. That being said..... Gotta give congratulations to Carolina. They took Edmonton's gameplan from games 5 and 6 and turned it around on them. Banging guys into the boards from the get go, and never letting up once. While I truly hate Karmanos and the fact that he's one of Bettman's bestest buddies, and the fact that yet another southern team has won the Cup, I am happy for the following players in particular: Brind'Amour Recchi Weight (I actually bought a Edmonton jersey with his name on it a few years ago) Hedican (Minnesota boy, gotta like him) Cullen (a native of Da Range) Wesley Cam Ward - who could be the next goalie in the mold of Roy and Brodeur Couple of what ifs to ponder just for fun...... What if Erik Cole is healthy the whole series - does it still go 7 games? What if Roloson doesn't get hurt - does Edmonton win in 6? The Oilers played well the entire playoffs. On paper, Carolina was the better team of the 2, and they certainly showed it last night. A great game, even if the outcome wasn't as I would have hoped. This is a Hurricane team that still has a ton of talent, and I can see them playing for the Cup for several more years yet.
Hugh 0ne
I think Markanen played as well as Roloson would have. Nothing in Markanen's game that kept EDM from winning imo.

I agree with you about Markanen, he played extremely well. What I was referring to was the colossal mistake by Conklin in game 1 that cost them the game. And Jussi did struggle in game 2, but given the fact he hadn't played in weeks that had more to to with his play than anything. All in all, he had a solid series.
