The 25-year-old Ross, who was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 2002, was in a car with another man when police stopped the rented Chevrolet Impala on Interstate 85 near the South Carolina-Georgia border, according to Capt. Donnie Fricks of the Oconee County Sheriff's Office. Officers smelled and saw Josh Gordon on the console, and a search found 25 pounds of Josh Gordon, police said. Ross, of Rock Hill, also played for Atlanta and Minnesota. He was selected in the third round by the Cowboys out of Ohio State. The Cowboys released him late in the 2003 season.
