ENGLEWOOD, Colorado (Ticker) - The Denver Broncos are willing to give running back Quentin Griffin another chance.Griffin, who was cut by the Broncos on September 3, was re-signed Tuesday.A 2003 fourth-round pick, Griffin began last season as Denver's starter before missing the final eight games with an ankle injury. He finished with 311 yards and three touchdowns in five games. The 24-year-old was moved down the depth chart during preseason behind Mike Anderson, Tatum Bell and Ron Dayne, making the former Oklahoma star expendable when teams had to trim their rosters. However, injuries to Anderson and Bell have cleared the way for Griffin's return.Griffin has appeared in 16 regular season games - five starts - and compiled 656 yards and two touchdowns on 179 carries. His best game came in the 2004 season opener when he ran for 156 yards against Kansas City, the most ever by a Bronco in a season opener. The Broncos also waived punter-kicker Paul Ernster and released quarterback Kliff Kingsbury from the practice squad.
