PantherDave
The weather has turned again, from the 70's to 32 this morning with 20-30 mph winds, so it's stew weather. I'll be doing a personel fav and a very hearty feed. Here's the recipie for those who would like to give it a try. MeatBall-Lima Stew 1 to 1 1/2 cup large dry lima beans 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 1 8 oz can cut-up tomatoes 1 cup sliced celery 1 cup sliced carrot 1/2 cup chopped onion 1 Bay leaf 1/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs 1/4 cup milk 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 1/2 lb ground beef Rinse beans, place in dutch oven, add 3 1/2 cups cold water. Bring to boiling, boil 2 minutes. Cover, let stand 1 hour. Do not drain. Combine flour and 1/2 cup cold water. Stir into beans, cook until thickened. Add veg's, bay leaf, and 2 teaspoons salt. Bring to boiling. Cover and simmer, stir often. Meanwhile, combine bread crumbs, milk, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and worcestershire, mix into ground beef. Shape into small meatballs, add to stew. Cover, continue simmering 45 min to an hour. Remove bay leaf-enjoy.
