Cyclones
Some of you probably remember a couple of weeks ago, I posted about this dipshat drawing out on me twice in the same tourney.Last week, I flamed out early, didnt have my A game and got dealt crap. But last night was a different story.... as luck would have it, I get paired at the same table with him (down to 11 players, there were 5 at our table and 6 at the other...same format, top three get paid, around $6300 to the winner this time.) Anywhoo, I had been playing great all night and was leading my table in chips, with my nemesis in 3rd in chips. He is playing like a maniac, so I figure I will show some overtightness with him. I made a small raise everytime he was in the blind, regardless of what I had. He came over the top of me EVERY time, after which I calmly mucked (this happened 5 times in a row.) After a break, I look down at the dream...AA and he is in the BB . So I make my standard small raise, the SB calls (added bonus) and he comes blasting over the top again. I sit there and think for about a minute, then push my chips in without saying a word. The SB mucks immediately, and my nemesis calls....with AQ offsuit. I have this guy right where I want him. Flop is 10-J-Q. Turn is 6, and the motherOpraher catches a K on the river to chop the pot :doah: . We at least got to split up the SB's chips. Anyways, I will spare you the details about how we ended up heads up for first place. Keep in mind this dude won over 7 grand at this same tourney two weeks ago. He has a 3-1 chip lead when heads up begins. We trade chips back and forth until I pick up my favorite hand...68 suited (hearts). I am in the BB, he calls, I make a 3x BB raise, and he calls this as well (terrible play.) Flop is 57J, with the 7 and J being hearts. I move all in before the last card stops moving. He thinks and calls.......with A7!! (another terrible play, but he has the lead at this point.) But I have 20 outs, one of which I hit on the turn (the 9 of spades) and the river brought a fifth heart that I didnt need. So now we are virtually dead even in chips (he had me ever so slightly covered) and on the very next hand, as I am stacking, I look down at cowboys. In the SB with the button, I raise to 5x the BB and the guy calls. This cat calls more bets than anyone I have ever seen, I have no idea where his success comes from. Flop is QKA, I flop a set. I put him on a marginal Ace (A7, A8, something like that) when he comes out with a pot sized bet. I announce that I am all in and he calls before I finish. I fully expected him to turn over 10-J at this point-which he does, much to my chagrin. He proceeds to lecture me about how bad a play I made moving all in with a straight draw on the board, how he was gonna be up over 13,000 in two weeks, blah blah blah. Turn is a blank (a three of diamonds I think) and he is high fiving his buddies. Bingo bango, river comes down - case King. This fatherless male goes off telling me how lucky I am to hit my one out (I actually had 10, shows what the dick knows about the game.) At this point he can barely cover the blind on his next hand and my Q high holds up. The greatest thing of all is this moron telling me that I won't get so lucky next time we play, how bad I suck, yada yada yada. Being the classy guy that I am, I calmly shake his hand and say "nice game." Pissed him off to no end, he wanted a confrontation. F'n Helmuth is to thank for these types of attitudes. . Anywhoo, I have a little over $6300 more to put in my poker pot, which will get me alot of buyins to this tourney. I have had pretty good success at this one and I think it could turn in to a good amount of side income. I am going to be in Vegas in the spring and would like to hit the casinos with any poker minded huddlers who live there.
