Whiskeyjack
Would welcome some advice on which one of these trades I should accept. Its a 10 team league. We start 2 QB, 3 RB, 4 WR, TE, K, DEF. We get 0.1 points for 1 yard rushing or receiving, and 6 points for a TD. My lineup is: QB - D.Culpepper, P.Rivers RB - L.Tomlinson, S.Jackson, B.Jacobs WR - M.Harrison, R.Wayne, T.Houshmandzadeh, D.Bennett TE - H.Miller K - A.Vinatieri DEF - San Diego Bench is: QB - C.Pennington RB - W.Lundy, J.Norwood, V.Morency, M.Turner WR - Mi.Clayton, N.Burleson, J.Cotchery Every time I thought I had a trade to fix my RB situation so far this year, its fallen through. So I'm determind to make one of these work. Option 1 I give - D.Bennett and V.Morency I get - L.Maroney Option 2 I give - D.Bennett, N.Burleson, V.Morency I get - K.Jones OR J.Lewis Option 3 I give - D.Bennett, N.Burleson, J.Norwood I get - K.Jones OR J.Lewis The K.Jones/J.Lewis owner will do option 3, no question. He has guaranteed that. So that is my fallback option. He says he's 50/50 on Option 2, though. Of course, I prefer Option 2 over Option 3, since I'd rather give up Morency. So I have 3 questions. 1) Which trade is better for me - Option 1 or Option 2 (assuming that I can convince the other owner to do Option 2)? 2) If the other owner ultimately decides against Option 2, then which trade is better for me - Option 1 or Option 3? 3) Regardless of all of the above, who would you rather have at this point - Kevin Jones or Jamal Lewis? If both Option 1 and Option 2 fall through, then I'm probably going to do Option 3, so I'll need to decide between those 2 in that situation. Sorry for the long, complex question. I'd really appreciate any help you can provide. I'm torn on which path is best for my team. Thanks in advance for any replies. Grogansghost
I would do option 1. I don't buy that this is going to be K. Jones bounce back year, and Lewis only averaged 3 ypc against TB and has already started showing injury issues (hip). Even if Dillon doesn't get hurt, I think Maroney has a good chance of outperforming the other two week to week. The Patriots passed a ton last year because they were forced to, not because that's what Bellichick likes to do. This year their offensive line is healthy, and I think Dillon and Maroney should get close to even splits every week - I think both will be able to put up good yards, while Watson and (insert random receiver) will provide a token passing game. But, if you're big on one of the other RB's force option 2 --- but I would definitely not do option 3. Lundy has one too much upside to trade for one of these guys. Whiskeyjack
Thank you for the reply. Does anybody else have any opinions? If you'd like me to simplify it, I can just ask this instead: Please rank the following RB - Laurence Maroney, Jamal Lewis, Kevin Jones. In addition, which is better: 1) Laurence Maroney as a RB #3 (in the starting lineup) and Jerious Norwood on the bench. or 2) Kevin Jones or Jamal Lewis as a RB #3 (in the lineup) and an open bench slot (nobody very good is on FA, so my choice for a pickup won't be much of a factor).
