cliaz
http://www.fanball.com/fb/newsbreakers.cfm September 24, 2006 11:41 AM ET Steelers: Big Ben's temperature reportedly normal The News Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was spotted warming up on the field in preparation for Sunday's big game with the Bengals; we are assuming he does not have a fever at this time. Controversy erupted in the Steel City Monday night when Big Ben reportedly said he had a 104-degree temperature, while his coach Bill Cowher said his temp was 100.4 prior to their loss to the Jaguars. Our View We'll be keeping tabs on Roethlisberger's temp as the day progresses, and will let you know if it climbs above 98.6. September 24, 2006 11:24 AM ET Jaguars: Jones a game-time decision The News Wide receiver Matt Jones is being reported as a game-time decision because of injuries to his groin. He missed multiple practices during the week and is listed as questionable on the injury report. Our View Jones is likely a third receiver on most fantasy teams, and probably should be held out. The Jaguars will test him before the game, so hopefully there will be more news about his status before kickoff. September 24, 2006 11:13 AM ET Ravens: McNair jarred as busses collide The News A two bus crash on the way to the airport Saturday left quarterback Steve McNair shaken up, but uninjured. Ravens team spokesman Kevin Byrne said that no players were hurt in the accident. Our View This is a bizarre and random accident, but luckily no one was hurt. September 24, 2006 11:07 AM ET Bengals: Housh will play The News Wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh will play in Sunday's game against the Steelers. ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reported Sunday morning that he would make his regular season debut after missing the first two games because of a heel injury Our View The reports on Houshmandzadeh have been encouraging this week, but he is still a risky play. If you have a better option, play them and use this week to gauge where Houshmandzadeh is coming back from his heel injury. September 24, 2006 10:04 AM ET Ravens: Heap downgraded to questionable The News Ravens tight end Todd Heap has been downgraded to questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns after injuring his ankle while stretching at home. Our View This is an odd injury for Heap. Stretching at home has become as dangerous as washing a car. Watch as game time comes closer for more news on his status. September 24, 2006 9:43 AM ET Lions: Bryant's status uncertain The News The Lions may be without cornerback Fernando Bryant for Sunday's game against the Packers. The Detroit Free Press reports Bryant's status is uncertain for the tilt because he is dealing with a "personal issue." Our View If Bryant misses the game, Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings is suddenly an interesting play. Lions No. 1 corner Dre Bly will likely be matched up on Donald Driver all afternoon and he will win more than his share of the battles on that side of the field, meaning Brett Favre may look to Jennings more than usual.
