dmarc117 Posted May 29, 2007 Share Posted May 29, 2007 what is the reasonong behind 'no fault' divorce? i have 2 relatives and 1 biz associate that are currently going thru the big D. all were cheated on, all are getting absolutely screwed by the ladies. why doesnt the law hold the cheater accountable for anything? Because consentual sex between two adults isn't a crime, and courts got tired of listening to everyone's dirty laundry (real and made up) before they'd grant a divorce. Old school divorce proceedings turned into ring-side events. It's just easier to say, "hey, you guys don't want to be married? Fine. We don't care what your reasons are."
