Keep the gun loaded in the safe, with a shell in the chamber and on safe. I agree with the push button safe part , I can get in mine barely even looking at the keypad now. I'm not a big fan of keeping a round in the tube though, call me Mr. safety but it only takes a split second to chamber one.
