XBonesX
I am in a 10 team keeper league. What are some of the options in other keeper leagues if you decide to NOT keep anyone? Wouldn't your decision to keep someone be affected by the player pool available?
Big Country
Depends on the keeper setup. Some league are fixed number of keepers. You keep that many, every team does, etc. Some have costs assosciated, such as keep up to 5, but each kept player costs you a draft pick starting with your first, or it costs you the round they were initially drafted in, or it costs you a pick x number of rounds above where they were drafted. THe decision about not keeping anyone is all about the league rules. If it is fixed, then not keeping anyone is not an option. If it is a league with costs assosciated, then you simply don't have to forfeit any picks to keep anyone and enter the draft with a full complement of picks

But what are some suggestions for what we should do if a player decides on NOT keeping someone.
Big Country
If you rulesstate that each team keeps 1 player, than eac hteam needs to keep 1 player. If you want to rewrite your rules, you can say that each team can keep 1 player in lieu oftheir first round pick or in place of the pick in the orund the player was drafted the year before or in lieu of a pick x number of rounds above the round the player was picked the year before. How is the rule currently written?

Then the draft starts. Seems like you do have your rules set in stone contrary to your above post. You either keep someone or you go into a supplemental draft for one player. 9Note that most leagues that use this system have rules that either no rookies can be taken in this supplemental portion and sometimes that only players that were on a year end roster can be taken) And, to answer your 2nd question in the first post, yes, my decision would be based on whom I expected to make it into the supplemental round vs. my potential keeper player. Agree with #1. No one should know what other teams are planning to do. All keepers, or teams deciding not to keep a player, should be announced at the same time so no team has an advantage. It's up to the owner to weight the risk/reward of keeping, or not keeping a player and make educated guesses on what other teams are going to do. For #2, you should be able to select anyone you want. Once keepers are announced, all the players are dropped to the draft pool, so they should be fair game. It's a strategic decision/risk to drop your player that you could for sure keep and go to the supplemental draft where that player may or may not be the best available player. So, I disagree wholeheartedly with your commish on #2, agree wholeheartedly with #1.
