The Irish Doggy
Trying to connect the future mrs. work laptop to the home wireless network... Detects the network fine with excellent signal. Says it is connected after typing in password, but then sits at the point of "renewing ip address". Won't let us connect to internet. Works fine at her work and local coffee shops. I'm a bit clueless here...

The DHCP server assigns IP addresses to devices on the network that request them. These devices must be set to "Obtain the IP address automatically". By default, the DHCP Server is enabled on the DI-624. The DHCP address pool contains the range of the IP address that will automatically be assigned to the clients on the network. Can you get another laptop to see if it will connect? If it can there is something going on w/ the wife's LT. If not you router settings need a tweak. Edit for: Will a direct connection work? Get/connect an Ethernet cable and see if it will connect. Edited September 1, 2007 by rocknrobn26
The Irish Doggy
The wife had to take her LT back to work, but we discovered her desktop (connected wirelessly) wasn't working either. Anyway, I changed the DHCP setting to the one you recommended and the desktop works now. She'll bring her LT back over the weekend to be sure that will work now as well. What I don't understand is why it worked before when it was on the default Buffalo settings. Anyway, thanks RR!
