I think we'd need a lot more particulars to answer your question before we can give you any particulars. Who do you want? How do you bid? How much money do you have? How desperately do you need the player your bidding on? Etc. Etc. Etc.
49erAddict-08
Sorry, I guess I was just looking for some overall strategies, but maybe there aren't any other than "bid higher than the other teams on players you want". We have a $200 cap to start the season. It seems to me that it would be better to spend more of it during the first few weeks since that is usually when the best free agents break out. Is that usually the case? Edited September 11, 2007 by 49erAddict-
Hugh 0ne
Sorry, I guess I was just looking for some overall strategies, but maybe there aren't any other than "bid higher than the other teams on players you want". We have a $200 cap to start the season. It seems to me that it would be better to spend more of it during the first few weeks since that is usually when the best free agents break out. Is that usually the case? Example: If I own Steven Jackson, and he gets hurt, and Brian Leonard is on the waiver wire, I would be certain get him. Now, what exactly that means would depend on league tendencies. If you're new to this league, and have no bid history to go on, it will make it a little different. That being said, if the guy you want is someone you absolutely have, and you think many others in the league really want him, don't be afraid to bid a significant amount. I'd consider maybe as high as half of your money, but again, only if you REALLY need th guy. Always keep some money around for bye week keeekers and defenses and such, but don't save your money waiting for a late season stud, spend it when the guy you want is there.
