UK vs Florida

Well, its been a hell of a season for my Cats. They start the year with a new coach and their starting pt guard and 6th man injured. They lose an early game at Rupp to Gardner Webb, get their doors blown off by IU and Louisville, then knock off 17-0 Vandy in the SEC opener. They lose two close road games (one to UF in OT) before peeling off 6 straight including a win over #3 Tennessee at Rupp. It looked like we were rounding into form, Jasper was back though Meeks still out, and Patterson was playing better than we could have hoped. Then an inexplicable 41 point drubbing at Vandy. We then win our next 4 and are looking like decent bet to upset #1 Tennessee on the road, but Patterson goes down with a broken ankle. We still somehow play UT to within 3 pts with no Patterson, no Meeks, and Crawford rendered useless with foul trouble. A road win over USC highlighted by 35 pts from Crawford has us at 11-4 in the SEC. This is not by any means your vintage UK team. Our depth is non existent, we have been ravaged by injuries, yet we have scratched and clawed our way to within a spot in the NCAA. Only thing in our way? Florida, with a 7 game win streak over UK. No team has ever beaten UK 8 times in a row (this is a streaky series as prior to UFs current 7 game streak we beat them 8 straight.) Should be crazy at Rupp, senior day for Crawford and Bradley. I think the young Gators get rattled by the Rupp crowd and UK wins by 10 or so to complete the turnaround from a 7-9 start to the tourney. Go Cats!

This has been such an up and down year for a Cats fan. We made it to the tourny though it looks like. Now if we can just beat a press we should be ok
