BeachBum
So, I'm new to this sport - and prepared a little for a ten team draft, not this mammonth SIXTEEN teams! - so I can't figure out if I did well or not. I kinda like the squad, but have no way to really figure out how they might do. Any comments? C: Varitek/Javy Lopez - both steady starters 1B: Bagwell - a stud 2B: Biggio, until he moves to OF, then Eric Young 3B: Troy Glaus - homer hero SS: Jimmy Rollins - get some SBs OF: Bonds - a steal at #5 OF: Shannon Stewart - .300 hitter OF: Tim Salmon - another homer, can improve over last year. Util: Terrence Long - has had good years Util: Mientkiewcz - just love the name! Maybe 2001 was the real thing, not 2002 Pitching seems weak, but I'm not sure what is worth what - SOs, Wins, etc. SP: Kerry Wood - Lots of Ks, maybe will add some consistency SP: Washburn - 18-6 last year SP: Sabbathia - up and coming star? SP: Eric Milton - steady RP: Billy Koch - stud RP: Alfonseca - will he be Cubs closer? P: Batista, Albie Lopez, Jason Bere - all will start some. Not sure how important "Holds" are, or how to predict when you'll get em!
Hitman
Over all not a bad team Beach. Biggio will be playing OF this year, the Astros acquired a fella by the name of Jeff Kent to play 2b. wink You are solid with Bagwell, Glaus, and Bonds. Good pick with S. Stewart. Salmon is past his prime, I like T. Long though. Your pitching staff is young, could be good...could be bad. Over all, a pretty strong squad you got there. Bonds makes a HUGE difference on any team. Def. a steal at 1.5 IMO. Wish he would have fell to me. :P
