myhousekey
Bump Adrian Peterson even higher if the knee injury keeps Ellis out. http://blog.nola.com/saintsbeat/2008/10/ne...ct_2_pract.html Add defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis to the Saints' ever-growing injury list. The rookie came out for individual drills on Thursday and felt his knee "kind of click on him," according to Saints Coach Sean Payton, so the team sent him inside for tests. Might be nothing serious, but with this team this year, you never know. Four other players missed practice Thursday and have already been ruled out for Monday night's game against Minnesota - receiver David Patten(groin), receiver Marques Colston (thumb), tight end Jeremy Shockey (sports hernia) and cornerback Aaron Glenn (ankle). Safety Chris Reis (hamstring) also did not practice. Eight other players were limited - fullback Mike Karney (ankle), center Jonathan Goodwin (hamstring), tight end Mark Campbell (hamstring), receiver Terrance Copper (hamstring), tailback Aaron Stecker (hamstring), fullback Olaniyi Sobomehin (shoulder), cornerback Randall Gay (hamstring) and linebacker Troy Evans (ankle). All of them have a good chance of playing Monday. Payton said Karney is close to full strength. Shockey was running off to the side during practice with trainer Scottie Patton. The Saints are hoping he'll be ready to return as soon as next week

myhousekey
Wow... Shockey may return next week? It's been reported a few times over the last week that Payton was hopeful Shockey would return week 6. News: Shockey's hernia surgery went well and head coach Sean Payton is hopeful that he will be able to return for the team's Week 6 game against Oakland, the Times-Picayune reports.Spin: The damage to Shockey's ligaments wasn't as extensive as some sports hernias can be, so the recovery time is expected to be on the short end of the three to six week rehabilitation timetable. Payton said Shockey feels more comfortable already and is excited to see Shockey when he's no longer limited by the nagging injury. "Although he played well last week, you guys haven't seen what I know (he's capable of)," Payton said. I'm just surprised that he's healing so quick. I may be wrong but I thought he was a slow healer in New York...
myhousekey
Just can't catch a break.... http://blog.nola.com/saintsbeat/2008/10/mo...ew_orleans.html Saints defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis had a medial meniscus tear in his right knee and will miss the next two to four weeks, according to Saints Coach Sean Payton. Payton said Friday as his team's practice was getting underway that Ellis had arthroscopic knee surgery that morning. With Ellis out, the likely starter at defensive tackle beside Kendrick Clancy would be Antwan Lake, who returned to the field last week against the San Francisco 49ers after missing two games with a groin injury
