xMRogers Posted July 14, 2003 Share Posted July 14, 2003 I run a home run pool every summer - at the all star break, we can replace one player for a fee. I'm in 22nd (out of 135) - top 13 pay money. I am replacing Pat Burrell (although I'm sure he'll heat up, he's killing me now cause we have a "bonus" spot where homers count for 1.5 - he's my bonus - other guys have players with 25 there...) I'm considering Griffey, who is actually being replaced by a lot of guys - he seems to have hit a stride, and if (big f'n if) he stays healthy, may be the dark horse guy I need (there's a lot of duplication, so having someone that no one else has at the top is good). Also looking at Lowell, Edmonds and Sheffield as the top candidates I can pick from. Any thoughts? (realize that i already have 9 other guys, and there are some restrictions - can't take Sosa or Arod or a list of 8 other players) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

xMRogers Posted July 18, 2003 Author Share Posted July 18, 2003 I actually picked up Griffey, but the only other rule we have is that if someone goes 60day DL or declared out for season, we can replace them. SO I got Griffey for a day, then put in Sheffield. You believe I have a rule : effective day after make change....my pool, and I'm screwing myself. I'm in 17th place out of 135 - top 13 get paid.
