muck
1) I know nothing about computers. Be nice. 2) I have a system "Spybot - Search and Destroy" that detects changes to registry entries among other things. 3) It found a change and I don't know if I should allow the change or not. The information is as follows: Category: System Startup global entry Change: Value added Entry: wextract_cleanup0 Old Data: New Data: rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\advpack.dll,DelNodeRunDLL32 "C:\DOCUME~1\muck\LOCALS~1\Temp\IXP000.TMP\" ..................... Do I click "Allow Change" or "Deny Change"?

Azazello1313
sounds innocuous to me wextract_cleanup0 startup entries are usually legitimate entries added a RunOnce registry key to clean up temporary or cab files created by installer software. Do I click "Allow Change" or "Deny Change"? Deny it, then run RegCleaner. I run RegCleaner on my PC's every six months. It is amazing the amount of crap that piles up in there. Once in RegCleaner, go to Tools ->Registry Cleanup -> Do them all Edited December 9, 2008 by jetsfan
theeohiostate
If your installing trusted software or downloading from a trusted site, then allow it. If you have no idea why it has popped up, then deny it. I don't care for Spybot and recommend Spyware Terminator and AVG , both free
