Rivers or Hasselbeck?

Both should have solid games this week but I'd play Rivers for sure over Hass because I just can't trust that Hass will make it through the entire game without having his ribs or back act up if/when he gets hit.

Rivers on the road against the Gmen

or

Hass at home against the Lions

Thanks!

That's tough. Conventional wisdom says Hasselbeck against the cakewalk Lions, but that bit me before when I started him against the AZ Cardinals. I still like him this week, but River's options are more explosive, and well, Rivers is a better QB.

Also, just look at what other elite QB's have done against the Giants this season.

See: Drew Brees

See: Kurt Warner

See: Donovan McNabb

I'd go with Rivers.

Again, I think you read too much into matchups. Rivers is the clear-cut better QB without the injury question marks, and he's going against a perfectly good matchup against a secondary that has proved to have some problems. Who cares what hasslebeck is doing? Once, again, start your studs, unless there's really good reason not to.

As for the original poster, if you just want someone to choose your starter for you, the rankings could have done that. These are just my opinions, but the rankings will tell you the same thing. There's no real dispute here

Kevin, I am glad we didn't deter you from giving advice. It's always welcome in this forum. (Good night. that's it for me for one day  )
