Reward for having succesfully not completely fouled up our first year as parents. Didn't do anything for his second birthday, and now that he is turning three next week we will have a party.... wow, the way you celebrate your kid's birthday is to reward and congratulate yourself? turning one, ok, maybe some sort of celebration (focused on THEM) isn't necessary, even though even at that age they totally dig the cake and the attention and the presents. but turning two? my two year old is STILL talking about her birthday party 3+ months later.
