countryroads
I have the second pick in my draft and need a rb. The ones available will be Mathews, Moreno and Grant. It's not a ppr league and my only keeper back is JStew. Need some advice on which way to go. This will be my first draft so any help would be appreciated. onionring9
Of the 3 grant is the only proven back. Both Mathews and Moreno have gigantic question marks looming over them. I'd take grant in a heartbeat
theprofessor
I'm assuming this is not a dynasty league as Matthews would be a no brainer. It's a close call between Grant and Matthews but I'd roll the dice with Matthews as Turner has a great history with RB's. While I agree there is more risk with Matthews he has a ton more upside than Grant and also as a keeper for 2011.
BearBroncos
Grant is absolutely your safest bet for points this year. Mathews and the most promising outlook in year two, but that of course is speculation until we actually see him take a snap or two.
ramflock
I agree with the others--Grant is the safest bet. Matthews has good potential, but Grant has done it before. Plus, the GB offense will rock.
kenya kid 24
grant, hands down safe pick. matthews has huge upside, moreno has a hammy injury if you want safe go with grant, if you want a risk/reward go with matthews
countryroads
I can keep Mathews for as long as I want if I pick him. There are no limits on keepers and no penalties. That fact alone is why I am struggling with this pick. I know Mathews may be a risk but if it works out I could have a stud for the next five years. Qball86
Mathews would be my pick there easily... If you want the better shot to win this year take Grant, he most likely outscores Mathews. If you are looking ahead take Mathews and be happy about whatever you get this year. Even though he has never played a down in the NFL I don't think you'll be disappointed with Mathews this year knowing you can keep him. countryroads
Yeah my only concern is taking that big a risk with my first pick. If he busts so does my season!!!
