Need starting QB advice

I'm in a keeper league and can keep Flacco at $2 and/or Manning at $28. I was thinking of rolling the dice on Flacco at my #1 QB, getting rid of Manning...then spending that cash on a top WR.

 

What do you think of that as a potential strategy?

 

If I did the Flacco strategy then my keepers (I can only keep 4) would be a combo of the following...

Flacco $2; Jones-Drew $48; Grant - $32; Celek - $1 (these I'm thinking of keeping).

 

...I also have Jennings $29; Moreno $14; Manning $28

 

So if I did the above I'd have enough money for at least 3 more $30 players. I am also still debating keeping Moreno over Grant but I think Grant is pretty damn solid.

 

Standard scoring league btw, thoughts?

I'd do it. Flacco has all the makings of a top 10 QB this year and over his injury.

What is the going value for RBs and can you keep players indefinitely?

 

Can you trade before the auction? Moreno for $14 appears like real good value compared to the prices for MJD and Grant. If MJD is overpriced compared to other top RBs, perhaps really save cap space and let him go as well and keep Moreno, and position yourself with quite a bit of cash for the auction.... of course, this depends on how likely it is that top talent will be falling in to the auction, and if $48 is fair value for MJD.

 

Otherwise, I like what you have (though, not knowing lineup reqs or total cap limits the advice one can give)

Players can only be kept for 2 years, so this would be the 2nd year for all the players I mentioned. The league auction amount is $200 and I cannot trade before the auction.

 

Moreno IS good value, whereas Grant jis seems more reliable (although he got a concussion tonight). I'm still debating which to keep but leaning to Grant and his guaranteed 225+ rushes.

 

MJD is a lock at $48, since my league would probably push the price during an auction into the low $60s for him.
