FWmaker Posted July 4, 2011 Share Posted July 4, 2011 So, got a new tent to replace the one I just retired - 30 yrs old! Since I'd need it for a trip in 2 wks, I figured I'd set it up for my kids & myself in the backyard. My wife will not camp anymore. Went up easily. It's a 3 person tent and barely fit me and my 11 & 13 yr old. Pretty cramped with just sleeping bags & pillows. Well, around midnight, my son begged & pleaded to go inside (and he's a veteran camper). Called the house to have the wife let him in (figured she was awake - and was). Daughter was asleep in tent and slid her over for more room for both of us. I was having trouble going to sleep as my nose was stuffed & was still a bit hot. Finally, had to go take a leak. Got up and went to bushes. Didn't want to head to house and leave my daughter alone. Well, as luck would have it, somehow I went on my shirt and my leg. F'n great! Cleaned up best I could, got my daughter awake and got her AND me into the house. I am now on her sheet list. Woke up in AM w/ 101F fever and a splitting headache. Rained all day.
