yo mama
Meh. Tell the Mrs. to chill. She's far, far more likely to get killed by a drunk driver on the way home than she is to get attacked by a bear. That should cheer her up. I'm a backpacker and nature lover but Step 1 is to respect nature by knowing where you're at and being prepared. If grizzlies exist where you're going, you bring bear spray. If you see a mom with cubs, you get out of the area and report the activity to rangers - you don't keep hiking. While tragic, this dude's death was likely avoidable. Kind of like those three idiots that just died up in Yosemite climbing over the guardrail at Vernal Falls to "get a better look." Still, given how dangerous nature can be - and how stupid people can be - I'm constantly surprised at how uncommon these tragedies are.
