"It is the recommendation of Drs. Maroon and Collins that Chris not return for the remainder of the 2011-12 season or playoffs. Chris will continue to receive treatment and therapy with the hope that he can get better." Pronger struggled with injuries last year, while appearing in 50 games, but this campaign was even worse as it will come to an end with him skating in a mere 13 contests. The league is looking to soften the equipment (elbow pads shoulder pads etc.) on the players because that the cause of most of the head injuries.
