Per Rotoworld:

Chris Pronger has been shut down for the remainder of the 2011-12 season because of post-concussion syndrome.

"After consultation with respected concussion specialists Dr. Joseph Maroon and Dr. Micky Collins, it is the opinion of both doctors that Chris is suffering from severe post-concussion syndrome," GM Paul Holmgren said Thursday. "It is the recommendation of Drs. Maroon and Collins that Chris not return for the remainder of the 2011-12 season or playoffs. Chris will continue to receive treatment and therapy with the hope that he can get better." Pronger struggled with injuries last year, while appearing in 50 games, but this campaign was even worse as it will come to an end with him skating in a mere 13 contests.

As a Flyers fan...this makes me very  .

Saw the same the guy that Crosby is seeing. NHL has to figure something out, maybe get better helmets? I hope they don't try to do something drastic like take hitting out of the game, but with Buttman in charge, you never know.

Well Pronger got his from the puck in the face. Cant do much to stop that. The league is looking to soften the equipment (elbow pads shoulder pads etc.) on the players because that the cause of most of the head injuries. My son plays hockey and his elbow will deflect bullets that how hard they are. The nhl is looking to alter equipment regulations

Doesn't matter if he's out. They can play a full 60 minutes and not draw any minors. They are that good.

FUn game to watch last night though - if I didn't have a big time distaste for your HC, I could really get behind that team.

Goaltending will sink them again come playoff time, should be fun to watch. Again.
