Chavez Posted July 18, 2012 Share Posted July 18, 2012 The 3 big metal/hard rock progenitor bands are always Sabbath, Zep, and Purple. I never got Purple until the other day when I was listening to them and realized that Judas Priest and Maiden - basically the 2 definitive metal bands, IMO - are TOTALLY going down the path the Purple blazed, with that classical influence and instrumental virtuosity that Lord and Blackmore brought to the table.
