Pope Flick
In this thread, crispirons called out my spider sense, and negotiations have concluded. In the time he first offered the bet and my checking on it the line moved by 2 points, and the moneyline went to -600 +450. We settled on a straight up 5:1, without regard to future movement. In short, my $25.00 gets me a buck twenty five if the Brownies come out with that extra bounce, energy, whatever and find a way to ride it to the end of the 4th quarter. I kind of like this wager, given that I thought 8 was too low, and the movement means vegas wants to leade people to take the Pats. They do not do that lightly. That being said, my sportsbook is now closed, as is guido the bookmakers.
Bill Swerski
I hope your prediction is correct, but methinks that the Pope is a dope for throwing $25 out the window.
crispirons
why do i feel like a degenerate broken down bookie??? hi mr. pot, my name is mr.black, how u doin? i'm actually giving good value to pope here as the line is at 4.5/1 not 5/1. yet, i'm still very confident of gaining the win. i've never, ever, seen a line jump 2 points on the spread without a smaller movement first, on a thursday morning no less. crazy. I would tend to agree with you if Holcomb was starting, not that he's the savior, but he has proven in the past to be able to pass the ball, even with against a Pro Bowl DB Troy Brown manning the secondary. loaf
just found this little comment: Bill Belichick is approaching this week’s matchup with the Cleveland Browns with caution regarding the coaching change. “It's a situation that makes the Browns extremely dangerous,” the coach said. “It can really create an air, suddenly, of freedom. And sometimes confidence.”
GhostFace
I see the Pats' defense having a monster day. The Brownies are hurting on offense, and I'm sure the Pats' D is sporting wood with the match-up they have this week. A def score and a shut-out seem very possible to me. I just don't see this as being a trap game for the Pats. I think the Pats are gonna dominate this game. Much more concerned with Cin next weekend then Cle this weekend. I saw 8 at the beginning of the week, then it was off the board with the QB situation, now 10'. Makes sense to me.
crispirons
and the train kept a rollin, all night long. the line is now up to new england -11. the moneyline now at what we wagered 5/1. on the flipside, you would have to wager 7 hundred dollars to win one hundred on the pats, or 1/7. the line has got to top out soon. right???? Good spot to make some $$ with the Brownies.

Vinatieri Is God
Hey Crispy...how's this?? Locally, got -13 1/2 and online got -11. How's that for a middle? Obviously, I think the Pats smoke 'em, but nothing wrong with a garbage TD, down 20 that cuts it to 13 as time expires, right??
crispirons
the line moved down to 10.5 this morning. my guess, is alot of people played it at -8 and then came back on the other side at +11. a sound betting strategy usually.
