gilthorp
It was announced that Mike Green, the starting FS for the Bears has been demoted. I really won't be surprised if he eventually gets cut in a cost saving move. The position is being taken by Chris Harris, a natural free safety. Harris is a rookie, a 6th round pick who played for Louisiana-Monroe in college. Usually, a move like this is not significant, but let me tell you a little more about this kid. In college, he started all 45 games he had suited up for...that's a ton of experience he brings to the field. His head is screwed on straight, and is getting this opportunity because Lovie Smith is done with Mike Green, and Bobby Gray was lost for the season. Re-draft IDP leagues, simply keep an eye on this guy since he has skill...all Mike Green could do was tackle, and this kid brings more than that to the table. Keeper leagues, he's got the job and this backfield can put up some HUGH numbers at times, so he's worth a shot to get on your roster. Swiss Cheezhead
Yeah, I was surprised to read your earlier description stating that Todd Johnson was the biggest beneficiary to Green's demotion. The first article I read about it suggested that Green's demotion had a lot to do with Lovie's man-crush on Harris. Good info.
gilthorp
Harris ended the day with 5 solo tackles, and was a consistent part of the blitz package. On Mike Browns INT return, Harris was at Harrington as he released, probably causing the throw to be off...so that was good to see from the rookie. He's a solid play in deep leagues.
